Jamaat procession to make Dhaka-Rangpur Long March a success in Bhurungamari
The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Upazila branch has taken out a procession in Bhurungamari, Kurigram, to make tomorrow's Dhaka-Rangpur long march of 11-party unity a success, demanding the implementation of the referendum results, the trial of the July genocide, resolution of the electricity, gas, fertilizer and oil crises, and an end to narrow party affiliation.
On Friday , the procession started from the Bhurungamari Pilot Government High School grounds at 5:30 pm and ended at the central bus terminal after passing through important roads of the city. Later, a short rally was held there. In it, under the leadership of Bangladesh Workers' Welfare Federation Upazila branch secretary Atiqur Rahman Shamim, Upazila Amir Professor Anwar Hossain, Secretary Ferdous Hossain, Upazila President of Chhatra Shibir Ariful Islam and others spoke. At the time, a large number of leaders and workers of 10 unions and various units, including upazila leaders, were present.
Speakers at the rally said that the Dhaka-Rangpur long march has been announced on September 19 to demand the implementation of the referendum, trial of the July massacre, resolution of the electricity, oil, gas and fertilizer crisis, prevention of the rise in prices of daily necessities, improvement of the law and order situation, stopping partyization and stopping corruption, extortion and encroachment. They called on leaders and activists and the common people to make the Dhaka-Rangpur long march on Saturday, a success.
Jamaat-e-Islami sources said that a post-long march rally will be held at Rangpur Zilla School Ground. Opposition leader and Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will be present as the chief guest.
