Previous govt broughteducation system to brink of destruction : State Minister Tuku

State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku says the previous fascist government brought the education system to the brink of destruction. The current government is working to revitalize that education system.
He made this statement as the chief guest at a day-long reception ceremony for nearly a thousand meritorious students who secured GPA-5 in the 2026 SSC and equivalent examinations at Tangail Bindubasini Boys' High School on Friday.
He said that such receptions will further encourage students to study and play an important role in making them class-oriented.
He called on the future generation to come forward to make Tangail a society free from extortionists, juvenile gangs, and drugs.
He also said, addressing the students at this time, drugs are the biggest enemy of the youth society. Therefore, everyone should say 'no' to drugs. Referring to the next two years as a very important time in the lives of students, he said, we should utilize this time properly to build our own beautiful future.
Crests, mementos and educational materials were presented to students at the event.
Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock, handed over the award.
Fahad Sir of Fahad Tutorial gave a motivational speech to the students at the event. He said that there are two bad habits in life that one should stay away from. One is lying and the other is smoking. He urged the students to stay away from these and focus on achieving their goals. The students highlighted the contribution of their parents and teachers behind their success. At the same time, they expressed their determination to achieve better results in the future.
At that time, Tangail Police Superintendent Md. Shamsul Alam Sarkar, Additional Police Superintendent HM Mahbub Rizwan Siddiqui, officials of various government departments, students with GPA-5 from various educational institutions, teachers, guardians and local dignitaries were present.
