
Jamaat calls for election based on 5-point demands

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Dhaka District Secretary and Dhaka-19 Constituency parliamentary candidate, Maulana Md. Afzal Hossain, has stated that the upcoming national election must be held based on a five-point framework.
He made this statement on Saturday afternoon while addressing as the chief guest at a lawyers’ gathering organized by Dhaka District Jamaat at Jahangirnagar Society Girls’ College in Savar.
Maulana Afzal Hossain said, “The election must be conducted based on the legal foundation of the July Charter. If Jamaat-e-Islami comes to power, extortion, terrorism, land grabbing, and drug abuse will be eradicated from the country. In addition, transparency and accountability in development will be ensured through welfare-oriented initiatives.”
The meeting was presided over by Adv Md. Shahidul Islam and conducted by Dhaka District Jamaat’s Publicity Secretary, Asaduzzaman Jeem.
Among others, Dhaka District Political Secretary and Savar Municipality mayoral candidate Hasan Mahbub Master, Faridpur-1 constituency candidate Dr. Ilias Mollah, District Executive Council member Principal Md. Touhid Hossain, and Lutfur Rahman Mollah also addressed.
