Project Director Md. Abdul Khalek visited various project areas of the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming Project (CRIMP) being implemented to address the risks of climate change and make the infrastructure of the coastal region more disaster-resistant.

According to relevant sources, the site of the disaster-resistant cyclone shelter building under construction at Sher-e-Bangla Government Primary School and Panchakoralia Government Primary School No. 2 in Taltoli Upazila of Barguna was recently inspected. During this time, the project director exchanged views with the local residents and emphasized on starting and completing the work within the stipulated time.

During the visit, Project Director Abdul Khalek said, "Construction of modern and sustainable infrastructure is very important to reduce disaster damage in coastal areas. If the project is implemented, it will ensure the safety of people, property and livestock, as well as create an improved environment for students."

Meanwhile, under the same project, the ongoing development work of Nimtoli Azizia Maitha and Baishatbak areas of Barguna Sadar Upazila was also inspected on Thursday.

During the inspection, the project director discussed the progress of the work, design implementation and technical standards with the representatives of the concerned contractors and consulting firms. He also directed to complete the work within the stipulated time while maintaining the quality standards.

Barguna District LGED Executive Engineer Md. Mehedi Hasan Khan said, "The infrastructure being implemented under the CRIMP project will play an important role in increasing the disaster resilience of the coastal communities. We are taking forward the work by ensuring the highest standards."

LGED Senior Assistant Engineer Shyamal Kumar Gain, officials, consultants, contractor representatives, and local beneficiaries were present during the inspection.
