Husband arrested in Rangpur for sexually assaulting, killing wife by her father-in-law

Rangpur Metropolitan Police has arrested Sohan Islam, the husband of the deceased housewife Mitu Akhter, who was sexually assaulted and killed by her father-in-law in Lalbagh Balapara area of Rangpur metropolis. Police arrested Sohan Islam from Milgate area of Panchagarh district on Friday night.
Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Tofail Ahmed confirmed the matter to reporters at the Metropolitan Kotwali Police Station on Saturday, October 4.
At that time, the Deputy Police Commissioner said that the work of arresting the main accused in the murder case, Raja Mia, is underway. In addition, the investigation is ongoing. After the murder of housewife Mitu, Minajul Islam, the father of deceased Mitu Akhter, filed a rape and murder case naming 4 people and accusing some unknown people in this regard.
It is mentioned that on September 30, the hanging body of a housewife named Mitu Akhtar was recovered in the Lalbagh Balapara area of Rangpur city. Later, a video footage of sexual assault was released on social media, creating a sensation in the area. The police arrested the housewife's husband, Sohan Islam, on Friday in the case.
