
Human chain protesting terrorist attack on journalist in Kushtia

Model Police Station OC Shehabur Rahman has been withdrawn over the terrorist attack on local daily Khabarwala photojournalist Imran Hossain during a live broadcast of a schoolboy being run over by a trolley in Kushtia.
He was withdrawn on Sunday night for procrastinating and delaying in taking a police report. However, even after 24 hours of the incident, the police have not been able to arrest any terrorist. Journalists have protested by forming human chains and blocking roads.
Meanwhile, journalists from all walks of life in Kushtia have staged a sit-in strike and human chain in front of the Superintendent of Police office demanding immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the terrorists involved in the attack on journalist Imran Hossain.
Journalist leaders have announced to surround the Superintendent of Police office if the terrorists who attacked journalist Imran are not arrested within the next 48 hours.
The human chain and sit-in program was held for about an hour in front of the Superintendent of Police's office at 11 am on Monday.
Chaired by Kushtia Press Club President Al-Mamun Sagar and moderated by Banglavision and Desh Panthur Kushtia correspondent Hasan Ali, the event was attended by Dainik Sangbad's Kushtia correspondent Mizanur Rahman Lucky, Desh TV's Kushtia correspondent Nahid Hasan Titas, Dainik Shomor Kagoj's Acting Editor Nurunnabi Babu, and Dainik Khabor Wala's acting editor Munshi Shahin Ahmed Jewel, among others.
