It has been alleged that fifty leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal blocked Barishal Education Board Chairman Prof Yunus Ali Siddiqui for not placing Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Zia Uddin Sikder as number one member in a secondary school committee. One such video has already gone viral on social media.

The incident took place in the Barisal Education Board Chairman's room on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, conscious circles have expressed strong anger over such a controversial incident with the Education Board Chief. A storm of condemnation is going on on social media.

It is learnt that Barishal Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Zia Uddin Sikder's name was not placed as number one in the school committee and his followers harassed the chairman in the evening. The board chairman was blocked for about an hour with the direct support of two board officials Shahidul Islam and Saiful. Later, when the media personnel rushed to the spot, they were chased away.

Eyewitnesses said, in the evening, a group of leaders and activists suddenly gathered in front of the room of Barishal Education Board Chairman Professor Yunus Ali Siddiqui and started a commotion. At that time, a group of leaders entered the board chairman's room and asked him why Zia Uddin Sikder was not placed at number 1 on the list of the convening committee of this Wahed Girls Secondary School. At that time, some also threatened the chairman.

Upon receiving the news, the board officials and employees rushed to open the door and rescued the chairman. At that time, when the media personnel and members of the intelligence agency went there, the followers of BNP leader Zia tried to prevent the journalists from performing their duties.

Shahriar Tushar, President of Ward No. 17 Chhatra Dal of the city, who went to the spot, said, he had gone to pay a courtesy call on the board chairman sir. They exchanged greetings there. He did not see that the chairman was being surrounded.

Metropolitan Swechchhasebak Party Joint Convener Tarek Solaiman said, "Why should I go to the board? I don't know anything."

Chhatra Dal leader Ilias Talukder said, "I will go to pay a courtesy call on the chairman. Nothing about Zia Bhai's committee. However, we are saying that if possible, we will look into the matter of Zia Bhai's school committee."

Board Assistant Secretary and President of the Employees' Association Shahidul Islam said, "The person whose name is given as number 1 in the committee of this Wahed School is a fascist. That is why Chhatra Dal leaders and activists have said that no fascist can be kept. Zia Bhai must be kept." He claimed that many people are not blocked, so they feel that way.

Education Board Chairman Prof Yunus Ali Siddiqui told reporters in an immediate statement that BNP leader Zia has been placed as number 2 in the panel of the convening committee of this Wahed Girls' Secondary School. The wife of the school's founder, former UP Chairman A. Salam, has been placed as number 1.
