The 80-member Bandarban Sadar Upazila representative committee of the National Citizens Committee has been announced in Bandarban on Tuesday.

National Citizens Committee Convener Nasir Uddin Patwari and Member Secretary Akhter Hossain jointly signed the approval.

The 80-member Bandarban Sadar Upazila committee, consisting of the families of the July 24 student uprising martyrs and injured protesters, was recommended by National Citizens Committee organizers Jobairul Hasan Arif and Hasan Ali. Based on their recommendations, the central committee approved this committee. However, the term of the approved committee was not mentioned.

Saidul Alam (Simon), Md. Arman, Md. Sarwar, Didarul Haque Chowdhury, Iti Tanchanga, Hlayi Marma, Mehedi Hasan, Md. Yunus, Md. Jihan, Md. Meanwhile, some of the approved committee members have expressed their anger that their names have been included without their consent. Khalid bin Nazrul, a member of the committee, said in his Facebook post, "I have said no as many times as the National Citizens Committee asked me to be in the Bandarban Sadar Committee. Even then, the committee sold my name to gain acceptance." The post also mentioned, "I do not understand why they are selling me even after refusing. To be honest, I have no connection with the political party, and I will not have any connection in the future."

On the other hand, Aman Ullah, another member of the committee, said in his Facebook post, "Only those who have spontaneous support in this committee will work. I do not want to move forward by hurting anyone's feelings," he added.
