Human chain demanding construction of roads, bridges in Nawabganj

Locals have formed a human chain demanding the construction of a half-kilometer road from Imamnagar, on the border of Dohar , Dhaka, to Nayanagar Switchgate in Bandura Union in Nawabganj, and a bridge from Hasnabad to Nayanagar village on the Ichamati River.
On Friday afternoon, they held a protest and silent procession under the banner of the locals.
Participating in the human chain, the locals said that the half-kilometer road from Imamnagar to Nayanagar Switchgate in Bandura Union in Nawabganj has been in disrepair for many years.
However, after independence, no government has played a significant role in the development of this road. Although they only talk about development in words, they have never implemented it in reality. The local people demand the lives of the current interim government, as 16,000 residents of this area, including the locals of Doha-Nawabganj, are moving on this road very quickly.
So, repair the road quickly and make it easier for people to travel.
Sheikh Sadia of Imamnagar area said that if a person falls ill in Nayanagar area, it becomes difficult to take him to the hospital. Sheikh Sohel Rana, convener of the Kirti Sontan Doha Press Club of Imamnagar area, said that due to the bad road, no vehicles can easily enter this area. Also, due to the poor road system, students are not able to go to educational institutions properly.
Suravi Rosario, Shahadat Khan, Ujjwal Khan, Abul Hossain and Babu, residents of Nayanagar area said that so that students and common people can easily go from Nayanagar to Hasnabad Bandura, the locals have made arrangements to build bamboo bridges on the Ichamati River.
However, those bamboo bridges sometimes become a choking hazard for someone. Many have broken their arms and legs while crossing these bamboo bridges. Again, many have died later because they did not know how to swim while crossing these bridges.
The locals are demanding the construction of a bridge and road renovation over the Ichamati River from Bandur-Hasnabad to Nayanagar.
