Human chain demanding cancellation of Shyamnagar Municipality

A human chain was organized by the Shyamnagar Upazila Citizens’ Development Forum to demand the cancellation of Shyamnagar Municipality in Satkhira recently.
People from various walks of life participated at the Shyamnagar Bus Stand. The event was presided over by Gazi Ashrafuzzaman, president of the Citizens’ Development Forum, with Masum Billar in charge of proceedings. Speakers included Assistant Professor Habibur Rahman, Babulur Rahman, Shukkur Ali, Moktar Hossain, Rabiu Islam, among others. The speakers claimed that the necessary conditions and realities for forming Shyamnagar Municipality have not been met. They urged the government to attention and demanded, without delay, the cancellation of Shyamnagar Municipality.
