The district police have arrested 67 people in 25 anti-gang raids in different police stations of Noakhali. Later, 62 of them were handed over to their families on bail. Of the remaining five, one was arrested under Section 151, one in a regular case and three were sentenced and fined through a mobile court.

This information was given in a press release signed by Ahmed Payar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) of Noakhali District Police on Tuesday  afternoon. Earlier, they were arrested in a day-long drive on Monday.

The notification said that under the direction of Superintendent of Police N.M. Nasiruddin, these operations were conducted at various police stations in the district to prevent the misdeeds of juvenile gangs, prevent juveniles from getting involved in crimes, and ensure public safety.

According to police information, 7, 7, 13, 11, 11 and 11 of the juveniles detained at Sudharam Model Police Station, Companyganj, Begumganj Model Police Station, Senbagh, Chatkhil and Charjabbar Police Stations have been handed over to their families on bail, respectively. One person was arrested under Section 151 at Sonaimuri Police Station, one person was arrested under a regular case and two were handed over to their families. In addition, three people were fined and sentenced to prison by a mobile court at Kabirhat Police Station.

Ahmed Payar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) of Noakhali District Police, further said that in addition to regular campaigns to prevent the criminality of juvenile gangs, awareness activities will continue involving guardians, educational institutions, public representatives, and people from different classes and professions of the society.
