SRB-8 arrested fugitive accused serving life sentence in drug case.

SRB-8 has arrested Md. Nuruzzaman (30), a fugitive accused who is serving a life sentence in a drug case and is on a warrant.
On Wednesday night, a joint operation team of SRB-8 (Sadar Company, Barisal) and SRB-11 (CPSC, Adamjinagar, Narayanganj) conducted a special operation in the Siddhirganj Police Station area of Narayanganj district and was able to arrest him.
The arrested Nuruzzaman is the son of the late Abul Hossain Chowkidar and Amirunnesa of Purba Char Kutubpur village under Muladi police station in Barisal district.
According to SRB sources, a case was filed against Nuruzzaman in 2019 at Jatrabari Police Station in Dhaka city under Sections 8(c)/10(a)/40 of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018 (Case No. 32(3) 19, Session No. 26595/19). The learned court, having proved the case beyond reasonable doubt, sentenced him to life imprisonment. Since the accused had been absconding for a long time since the verdict, the court issued an arrest warrant against him, which was pending at Muladi Police Station in Barisal district as a Tamilable person.
Later, the concerned officer sent a request to the Captain, SRB-8, to arrest the accused. In view of this, the SRB-8 operational team conducted a joint operation by identifying the location of the accused through the use of modern information technology and intelligence surveillance.
After the arrest, the accused has been handed over to Siddhirganj Police Station in Narayanganj district for legal action. It was informed that RAB will continue such operations to suppress crime and arrest the accused under warrants.
