Foundation stone laid for construction work of Sunamganj Trade Fair 2026

A foundation stone-laying ceremony, discussion meeting, and prayer session were held at the playground of the Sports Association in Sholaghar, Sunamganj town, marking the commencement of construction work for the Sunamganj Trade Fair 2026.
The programme was organized after Jummah prayers on Friday by the Sunamganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under the supervision of Aira & Aksa Event Management.
The event was presided over by Chamber President Md. Shamsul Haque and conducted by fair organizer Hira Mia. Speakers included Chamber Vice-President Enamul Haque Enam, District Sports Association Member Secretary Nasim Uddin Lala, July Fighters Committee Convener Hafizul Islam Raju, social worker Jalal Uddin, and Rezaul Haque, among others.
In his speech, Shamsul Haque said that decisions regarding the fair would be made in consultation with local residents. He also stated that the fair would be operated in compliance with school and college schedules, as well as the timings of the call to prayer (Azan) and daily prayers. He assured attendees that no obscene or inappropriate activities would be allowed at the fair.
The programme concluded with a special prayer seeking the welfare and prosperity of the country and its people.
