
Food packets distributed in Jamalpur

On the occasion of the holy Ramadan, Zakat Fund of America distributed food packets and iftar items to thousands of needy, orphans, widows, beggars and widows in the Melandha upazila under the Jamalpur district.
Each food packet contained 10 kg of rice, 5 kg of potatoes, 2 kg of chickpeas, 2 kg of sugar, 2 kg of onions, 1 kg of oil, 1 kg of chira, and 1 kg of salt, for a total of 25 kg of items.
The distribution of these materials was carried out under the supervision of the upazila administration. UNO S.M. Alamgir inaugurated the distribution program recently.
This was announced in a press release sent by Abdur Razzak, representative of the international aid organization Zakat Fund of America.
A total of 26,000 families were provided with food packets and 30,000 families with best quality Iftar items at various mosques, madrasas, schools and colleges griiond in the district.
The organization has been providing multifaceted service work to orphans, destitute, poor, uprooted and street children in Bangladesh since 2007, including scholarships, free medical treatment, skills for women's empowerment, computer and sewing training, emergency relief and rehabilitation.
