Environmental pollution : Three factories in Rupganj fined over Tk 4 lakh

The mobile court has fined 4.5 lakh taka to Onik Net Composite, ACS Textile and Bikrampur Steel Mill factories due to environmental pollution in Rupganj, Narayanganj.
These three factories were fined by raiding the factories in Bhulta, Rupsi and Barpa areas of the upazila under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner (Land) from noon to afternoon on Monday.
Rupganj Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of Mobile Court Tariqul Alam said that complaints of environmental pollution have been received against some factories in the upazila. On the basis of this complaint, the fact of environmental pollution was found against these three factories. Meanwhile, Anik Knit Composite Factory was fined 1.5 lakh taka, ACS Textile Mill factory was fined 1 lakh taka and Bikrampur Steel Mill factory was fined 2 lakh taka.
Narayanganj District Environment Directorate Deputy Director HM Rashed, Assistant Director Sheikh Mojahid, Surveyor Zillur Rahman, Mamun and other members of the police force were present.
