805 meters RC road from middle Chagachar Kamal's house to Salam Saudagar's shop at a cost of Tk 90 lakh 52 thousand 115 under the Important Urban Infrastructure Development Project (2nd phase) at the initiative of Municipal Engineering Department in the financial year 2019-20 in Chagachar area of No. 1 Ward of Dohazari Municipality of Chandnaish Upazila of Chittagong has been in a dilapidated condition.

Tenders are invited for the development work by C Casting. Five years have passed since M/s ABM Shahjahan got the job as the highest bidder and started the work, but the renovation work of the 805 meter long road has not been completed till now.

After the first phase of box cutting and sand filling, after the completion of CC casting, the work is stopped for a few months.

On November 12, 2022, the work and CC work was completed at the initiative of the then municipal administrator Nachreen Akter. At that time up to 600 meters of RCC welding was completed but the remaining 200 meters of RCC welding was not completed. At present, 200 meters of RCC has to be cast from Haji MA Jalil Manzil to Salam Saudagar shop.

The former mayor Alhaj Mohammad Lokman Hakim has repeatedly urged the concerned contractor to complete the remaining 200 meters of RCC welding, but the concerned contractor has not started the work for the past one year. Locals blame the contractor's indifference as the reason for the delay in the work. They complained that due to the road work being abandoned in this way, the traffic is far away and the public is suffering. According to special sources, the said contractor sold the work to another contractor named Yousuf.
