BGB seizes smuggled goods worth Tk 1.18cr in Feni

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods worth over Taka 1.18 crore from Feni border areas today.
Lt Col Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, commander of the 4 BGB battalion told BSS.
BGB members conducted a drive in the border areas of Rajspur, Debpur, Chagalnaiya, Champaknagar and Madhugram in Fulgazi and Chhagalnaiya upazilas of the district this morning.
During the drive, the BGB personnel seized huge quantity of Indian lehengas, sarees, Kashmiri shawl, three-pieces, and 20-kg of Indian ganja which illegally entered through Bangladesh territory.
The total estimated value of the seized goods is Taka 1, 18, 04,400.
The seized goods have been submitted to the Customs and Narcotics Control Department.
Lt. Col. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain said that BGB operations are continuing to prevent smuggling in the border areas.
Legal action is under process, he added.
