Disaster-climate change adaptation training held in Sundarganj

Training on gender-sensitive disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation strategies was conducted in Sundarganj, Gaibandha.
The training was held on Monday at Belka Union Parishad Hallroom of the upazila. Union Disaster Management Committee members participated in the training to organize the 'Swapno' (2nd Phase) project to empower women to take up opportunities for productive and productive work.
Belka Union Parishad Chairman Md. Ibrahim Khalilullah spoke at the meeting Chairman Abul Kalam Azad, Union Parishad Administrative Officer Shahanur Rahman, Swapna-2 Project PC Golam Mustafa, PO Sharmin Akhter, UP Member Zahurul Islam, Hafizar Rahman, Journalist Sudipto Shamim, Union Worker Shafiqul Islam and others spoke.
The training extensively discussed the role of the Union Disaster Management Committee (UDMC) in gender-sensitive disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. Besides, detailed training on gender-sensitive behaviour, disaster, importance and strategies of risk reduction, climate change, impacts of climate change, climate change adaptation and adaptation strategies, national policy framework and mainstreaming of women in disaster risk reduction management is provided.
