Coast Guard detained 14 robbers with huge local weapons in Hatia

In a Coast Guard operation in Hatia, Noakhali, 14 notorious and violent robbers were arrested along with three firearms and a huge number of local weapons.
Lieutenant Commander Khandaker Munif Taki, Media Officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters, confirmed this on Monday morning.
For several days, members of the notorious and violent Fakhrul robbers' gang had been robbing, extorting, seizing land and carrying out various misdeeds by taking local people and fishermen hostage in the Meghna River and adjacent chars under Hatia Upazila of Noakhali. When the victimized local people sought the help of the Coast Guard, the Coast Guard increased intelligence activities in those areas.
As a result, on November 23, 2024, based on confidential information, a special operation was conducted by BCG Station Hatia under the Coast Guard South Zone in the area adjacent to Bar Aulia Bazar in Noakhali district. In the operation, 14 members of the notorious and brutal Fakhrul dacoit gang were arrested from the said area along with 03 firearms, 13 indigenous weapons, three deer horns, 18 mobile phones one watch and 48 thousand taka in cash.
The seized evidence and the arrested dacoit members were handed over to Hatia Police Station for further legal action.
