Dalal Bazar landlord's house :A victim of memory theft in the name of renovation

In the name of renovation, the local administration has destroyed the beauty of the landlord's house in Dalal Bazar, Lakshmipur recently.

All the old craftsmanship has been covered with sand-cement plaster. The plaster has been applied to the main gate of the landlord's house. This wall had various crafts from the past. However, the local and related administration departments have taken little care of them.

When severe criticism started on the social media Facebook, the memory snatchers did not pay attention to them. Facebook users are commenting that this work has been done to fill their pockets. Looking at the rubble of bricks and mortar before the plaster was applied to the front of the structure, one could sense the past. Although there was once a lot of enthusiasm and vitality, it is no longer there.

Although it is full of visitors in the morning, afternoon and evening, its beauty has also diminished due to lack of beauty. People could not have imagined that the house would be forgotten in such a way. This landlord's house is located in Dalal Bazar area, about 6 kilometers from the district town. This house, which is about 400 years old, seems to have lost its historical heritage today. It is a pity that the Dalal Bazar landlord's house has been erased in the name of renovation. The centuries-old ornaments of Lakshmipur seem to have been buried under plaster.

The house was almost in ruins, such renovation was not desirable. If necessary, it could have been renovated in its previous form by increasing the allocation. However, the various parts of the house that had collapsed could be seen, including the royal entrance, the spacious inner palace, the inner pond, the paved ghat, and various other works of art.the countless weeds on the old brick walls reminded us of the rise of Lakshmipur township. From the dirt and garbage inside the house to the coconut and betel nut gardens next to the landlord's house, the myth of memory also carries with it. Today, all the beauty is in the water due to immature decisions.

If the house cannot be restored to its previous form with the meager allocation, then why was the work done at all? This has also raised questions. If necessary, the work could have been done even after waiting a few days - this is also being discussed across Lakshmipur. Netizens in the district are demanding that those concerned be given a show-cause notice to find out why such a senseless act was committed.
