Human chain demanding construction of underpass in Mirsarai

Local businessmen and the public formed a human chain demanding the construction of an underpass or flyover on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Mirsarai Bariarhat Municipality in Bariyarhat municipal area at 10:30 am on Monday.
The human chain was organized by the Bariyarhat Municipal Market Development Committee and general traders. It was presided over by Haji Yusuf Manik, Senior Vice President of the Market Development Committee, and moderated by Jahidul Hossain Bappi.
Former member secretary of Mirsarai Upazila BNP Gazi Nizam Uddin, advisor of the market development committee Jasim Uddin Vender, members Nazmul Haque Sohag, Nazrul Islam Liton, Anwar Hossain, Abul Bashar, Abdul Mannan Babul, general secretary Kazi Faruk and social worker Kamran Hossain Suhrawardy among others spoke.
The speakers said that thousands of people cross this busiest highway every day. But accidents often occur due to the lack of a safe road crossing system. Even though there is a footbridge, it is difficult for children, the elderly and sick patients to move through it. As well as the common people suffering, traders are also facing losses. They strongly demanded the construction of an underpass or flyover in Bariyarhat as soon as possible.
