Combing operation to eliminate illegal nets in Lalmohan

A large number of illegal Behundi nets that were destroying fish resources have been recovered in Lalmohan Upazila of Bhola through a special combing operation.
From Saturday midnight to Sunday morning, the Upazila Fisheries Office recovered these illegal nets worth at least 5 lakh taka from different places in the Tentulia River.
In addition, 10 kg of fish of various species including Jatka Hilsa were recovered during this time. The recovered nets were burnt and destroyed and the fish were distributed among the helpless and needy.
Under the supervision of Lalmohan Upazila Fisheries Officer Ali Ahmed Akhand, Upazila Marine Fisheries Officer Md. Saidur Rahman, Field Assistant Md. Nesar Uddin, Saiful Islam Sohag, Office Assistant Khokon Chandra Dey and other police members were present in the operation.
