Coast Guard seized 3 illegal trawling boats in Mahipur

Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized three illegal trawling boats in Mahipur, Patuakhali on Tuesday.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid informed this in a press release.
Based on secret intelligence, a special operation was conducted by the Coast Guard Station NizamPur from 11 AM to 6:30 PM on Monday, June 9, 2025, in the Khaprabhanga River adjacent to the Sheepbariya Ghat in the Alipur area under Mahipur Police Station, Patuakhali. During the operation, 3 trawling boats (FB Ferdous, FB Saim, and FB Bismillah) were seized from the area due to the absence of valid documents and life-saving equipment.
Subsequently, the seized trawling boats were handed over to Mahipur Police Station for legal action.
The Bangladesh Coast Guard maintains a 24-hour patrol to keep the country's law and order situation stable. Through this, the law and order situation and prevention of smuggling in the coastal and riverine areas under the Coast Guard's jurisdiction have significantly improved. Such operations will continue in the future to protect fishery resources
