Coast Guard medical team rescued critically ill child aboard passenger launch

The Bangladesh Coast Guard provided emergency medical assistance to a critically ill child aboard a passenger vessel following an urgent distress call made to its emergency hotline "16111" on Thursday.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon confirmed the operation on Thursday afternoon, explaining that an elderly passenger had boarded the "MV Karnaphuli-4" launch from Bhola on Thursday morning at 8:30 AM to transport his ailing grandchild to Dhaka for advanced medical treatment.
When the passenger launch reached the vicinity of Munshiganj Launch Ghat around 2:00 PM, the child's physical condition deteriorated sharply. Recognizing the emergency, the vessel's master dialed the Coast Guard emergency helpline 16111 requesting immediate intervention.
In response to the emergency call, a medical team dispatched from Coast Guard Station Pagla boarded the vessel near Munshiganj and administered emergency treatment. Coast Guard personnel then transferred the child via high-speed boat to Sadarghat Launch Terminal and arranged CNG transport to convey the patient safely to the Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute in Shyamoli, Dhaka.
