Land Ministry launches 'Bhumidrishti' app to monitor field office attendance

Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, officially launched the "Bhumidrishti" geo-fencing mobile attendance application at the Ministry of Land conference room in the Bangladesh Secretariat on Thursday, to ensure punctuality and streamline administrative accountability across field-level land offices.
Delivering his address as chief guest at the inauguration ceremony on Thursday morning, Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu stated that integrating field offices into a unified digital monitoring framework will enforce physical attendance, enhance transparency, and uphold service delivery standards aligned with government pledges.
Speaking as the special guest, State Minister for Land Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, MP, explained that the geo-fencing technology creates a virtual geographic perimeter around each designated land office using GPS coordinates. Field officers and staff can only register their daily "check-in" and "check-out" or submit leave requests when physically present within the predefined boundaries, rendering remote attendance impossible.
State Minister Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin noted that the pilot phase is currently underway across 610 offices in six districts—Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Bogura, Rajshahi, and Chattogram—monitoring 919 personnel.
The event was presided over by Ministry of Land Senior Secretary A S M Saleh Ahmed, with senior ministry officials, media representatives, and field administration heads from the six pilot districts participating in person and via online video conference.
