A mass meeting was held at Kauria School and College ground on Sunday at the initiative of the Guabaria Union branch of the Islami Andolan Bangladesh in Hijla Upazila. Syed Ishaq Mohammad Abul Khair, Central Assistant Secretary General of the Islami Andolan Bangladesh and Barishal District President, was the chief guest.

In his speech, the chief guest said that the Islami Andolan Bangladesh has not taken any wrong decision nationally since its establishment in 1983. Despite repeated temptations, it has not been used as a ladder of power by alliance with big parties. The Islami Andolan Bangladesh has been vocal on the streets to achieve human rights, ignoring all threats, imprisonment and oppression. Our Ameer repeatedly shouted against Awami fascism and created a tremor in their chests.

The Islamic Movement Bangladesh has been politically protesting on the streets since the beginning with the students in the last July-August revolution, many of our leaders and activists have been killed. Ignoring the police bullets of the fascist Awami government, we jumped on the streets and freed the country from enemies.

We have to protect this freedom. And to protect this freedom, no new tested corrupt, occupying, looting, extortionist, murderers and oppressors can be brought to power through our support or cooperation. People must be invited to implement Islamic rule.

He said that Islam must be brought to power in order to enjoy the full benefits of independence. And there is no alternative to Pir Saheb Charmonai, a repeatedly tested leader and friend of the people, in empowering Islamists. Strengthen the hands of the Ameer of the Islamic Movement of Bangladesh to build Bangladesh as a welfare state under the leadership of Pir Saheb Charmonai in the coming days. Build a fortress of hand fans in every house.

Syed Md. Mizanur Rahman presided over and it was moderated by Maulana Masudur Rahman, the central organizing secretary (Barisal division) and Barisal district secretary, Vice-Principal Maulana Sirajul Islam, the organization's upazila president, Prof Syed Mozammel Haque Maksud, and Secretary Maulana Abdullah Bin Kalam, among others, delivered speeches as special guests.
