BRUR students to get more priority in research : VC

Begum Rokeya University (BRUR) newly appointed Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Shaukat Ali said, this university will reach a unique level by giving priority to education and research. I want to solve the housing problem and make the university a residential university. My aim is not for myself but to work for the overall development of this university including education and research. He said these things after joining the post of Vice-Chancellor at the administrative building of the university on Wednesday ecampus evening.

The vice-chancellor said that the blood debt of martyr Abu Saeed can never be repaid. I want to fulfill the responsibility given to me with honesty and devotion. He also said that legal action will be taken against all those involved in the killing of Abu Saeed and the attack on the students.

He also said that my office is always open for students. They will be given access rights and evaluated first. All work will be done with the feedback of the students, a learning environment will be created for the students. A student-centered learning environment will be ensured..

At 8 o'clock in the conference room of the administrative building, Professor Dr. Md Shaukat Ali said that student politics will be stopped on campus if students want. Initiatives will be taken to start student council. He expressed hope that plans would be taken for different periods for the construction of various infrastructures including academic buildings, residential halls, auditoriums for the students. He expects the overall cooperation of teachers-students and officials-employees to work for the overall development of the university.
At the end of the university ceremony at 10 pm, he along with teachers-students and officials-employees visited the grave of Shaheed Abu Saeed, a 12th batch student of English Department of Begum Rokeya University, who was killed in the anti-discrimination movement at Babanpur village of Jafarpara of Pirganj Upazila. After visiting the grave, the Vice-Chancellor spoke to the family members of the deceased Abu Saeed.

On Thursday (September 19) morning in the conference room of the administrative building, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shaukat Ali. Meanwhile, he expected everyone's cooperation and advice to keep the academic and administrative activities in the campus normal.
