BNP-affiliated lawyers and agitated students vandalized three murals of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of the Narayanganj District Commissioner's office, the District Superintendent of Police's office, and the District and Sessions Judge Court. Later, they also vandalized and removed a large number of photographs from the Bangabandhu Corner located on the ground floor of the District Commissioner's office building.

The vandalism took place on Thursday noon, led by Adv Sakhawat Hossain Khan, the convener of Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP, and Advocate Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu, the member secretary.

Regarding the incident, Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan stated, "These symbols represent oppression and tyranny. Because of them, the administration became tainted and politicized, depriving people of justice for 15 years. From now on, the administration and judiciary will remain neutral, ensuring justice for the people."

Advocate Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu added, "The godfather of the tyrannical Awami League, Shamim Osman, and his associates have used Sheikh Mujib’s images to suppress people. We will remove such images from all locations. No remnants of tyranny will remain in Narayanganj."

Additionally, the BNP leader announced that by the end of the day, they would demolish "Hiramahal," the ancestral home of former MP Shamim Osman, as well as "Baitul Aman," known as the cradle of Awami League in Narayanganj.

Colourful rally on Chhatra Shibir’s anniv in N'ganj

On the occasion of the 48th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, the organization held a colorful rally. The rally was organized by the Narayanganj Metropolitan branch on Thursday (February 6) at 9 AM. It started from Khanpur, passed by the Narayanganj Press Club, and concluded with a brief gathering at the Chashara Shaheed Minar. Participants carried the national flag during the rally.

The event was presided over by Narayanganj Metropolitan Chhatra Shibir President Md. Ismail, with Secretary Amit Hasan, Office Secretary Amzad Hossain, Finance Secretary Raihan Rafiq, Education Secretary Kamrul Islam, and Library Secretary Al Helal, along with other leaders and activists, in attendance.

President Md. Ismail stated, "Islami Chhatra Shibir aims to develop every citizen of Bangladesh as honest, skilled, and capable. Wherever Chhatra Shibir has been active, they have demonstrated integrity. Islami Chhatra Shibir will continue to serve as a vigilant guardian for Bangladesh’s prosperity."
