On the occasion of the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), a national and party flag hoisting and discussion meeting was held in Meherpur.

The program was organized by Meherpur District BNP. The national flag and BNP party flag were hoisted in front of the district BNP office in Bospara area of Meherpur city around 10 am on Tuesday to the tune of the national anthem. After the flag hoisting on the occasion of the founding anniversary, a brief discussion meeting was held due to rain. Former joint convener of district BNP and former municipal BNP president Jahangir Biswas moderated the discussion meeting, and former president of Sadar Upazila BNP Advocate Maruf Ahmed Bijon addressed the discussion meeting. Former General Secretary of Sadar Upazila BNP Saiful Islam, District Jubo Dal President Zahidul Haque Zahid, Joint General Secretary Saidur Rahman Sujan, District Krishak Dal President Mahbubur Rahman Mahbub, District JASAS Convener Professor Mahfuzur Rahman Ashesh, District Zia Mancha Convener Kamruzzaman Babu, Member Secretary Saidur Rahman, District Chhatra Dal President Aqib Javed Senjir, and leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates were present at the time.

The speakers at the discussion meeting said that various programs have been organized throughout the month of September to mark the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP. Among them, tree plantation, release of fish fry, Bhairab River cleaning campaign, processions and meetings have been organized to mark the founding anniversary.
