‎The Bagerhat District Unit Committee of Bangladesh Journalists Protect Committee (BJPC), established with the support of "Free Press Unlimited and Article 19" funded by the European Union, has been approved.

‎On Saturday, at the hall of Aranya Ecopark in Khulna, the day-long general meeting of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Journalists Protect Committee, distribution of protective equipment among journalists, and a picnic were held. Sheikh Md. Abu Sayeed Shunu, Bagerhat District Correspondent of Manab Zamin Newspaper and President of Bagerhat Press Club, was unanimously elected as the President. Sohel Rana Babu, Bagerhat District Correspondent of Global Television and Executive Member of Bagerhat Press Club, was elected as the General Secretary. Finance Secretary of Bagerhat Press Club, Bagerhat District Correspondent of ATN Bangla and ATN News SM Amirul Haque Babu.

Bagerhat District Correspondent of Nagorik TV Sheikh Ahmed Tariq. Bagerhat District Correspondent of Dainik Abhaynagar Mizanur Rahman Sagar. Mollahat Correspondent of Inqilab Md. Shariful Islam and Bagerhat District Correspondent of Dainik Naya Shastratore Tariqul Molla have been elected. Central Committee President Kaushik Dey and General Secretary Anisur Rahman Kabir approved this committee in the general meeting.
