
Begum Zia, Tarique Rahman will not tolerate corruption, extortion : Rezauddoula Chowdhury

Rezauddoula Chowdhury, former Information and Research Secretary of the central BNP and a member of the committee related to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs said that Begum Zia and Tarique Rahman will not tolerate those involved in corruption, extortion, and fictitious case dealings in the name of BNP.
Rezauddoula Chowdhury, former Information and Research Secretary of the central BNP and a member of the committee related to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs said that Begum Zia and Tarique Rahman will not tolerate those involved in corruption, extortion, and fictitious case dealings in the name of BNP.
He made these remarks during his speech as the chief guest at a memorial meeting for the late Anisur Rahman, the founding General Secretary of the Melandaha Upazila Chhatra Dal, held at the Melandaha Auditorium premises in Jamalpur at 5 PM on Saturday.
He strongly criticized those who, using BNP’s name, exert influence over educational institutions and administration, and amass wealth by extracting benefits from fascists. He commented that investigating the sources of income and abnormal bank transactions of those who became millionaires overnight after August 5 would reveal everything. He urged intelligence agencies to monitor these leaders to prevent money laundering. He also called on the public to remain vigilant against such masked leaders. Lastly, he sought the cooperation of the administration, party leaders and workers, and civil society to stop all such misdeeds.
The meeting, chaired by Alhaj Engineer Daulatzaman Ansari, Vice-President of the central committee of the Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal, featured speeches by, among others former military officer Colonel Rafiqul Hannan, Adv Aman Ferdous, a member of the central committee of the Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, Abul Hossain, a 1971 guerrilla and relative of the late Anisur Rahman, freedom fighter Jahangir Alam Babu, Azam Khan, convener of the Anis Smriti Sangsad and founding president of the Upazila Chhatra Dal, Rowshan Alam Ranju Talukder, former joint convener of the Upazila BNP, Alamgir Ahmed Shahjahan, a classmate of the late Anis, Rezaul Karim, founding president of the Poura BNP, and Mahfuzur Rahman Mister, Joint Convener of the Upazila Swechchhasebak Dal.
