
Attacks on 35 shops, residences : Clash of two groups of juvenile gang in Rupganj

In Rupganj of Narayanganj, two groups of juvenile gangs have hired terrorists from Chanpara Purnabasan Kendra area to spread the dominance of various crimes including theft, robbery, robbery, kidnapping, extortion, drug trade, chase, shoot-cocktail and explosion. Police fired 8 rounds of short gun to bring the situation under control. In this incident, the police arrested a person named Hridoy Khan (25). Ever since this incident, there is extreme fear in the area. These incidents happened on Thursday (May 30) at 10 pm in the Tarab Bazaar area of the upazila.
According to police, eyewitnesses and local sources, Tarab Bazar area of Ward No. 8 of Tarab Municipality is an industrial and populated area. Here, two juvenile gang groups are involved in various crimes including theft, robbery, road robbery, kidnapping, extortion, drug trade. One group was led by Shimul Bhuiya, son of Bakul Bhuiya of Tarab Uttarpara area. The other group was led by Robel Mia, Shraban alias Kutta Shraban and Akbar Badsha.
On Thursday afternoon, youth gang leader Shimul was thrashed by members of Robel Mia, Shraban alias Kutta Shraban and Akbar Badsha group for dominating the crime world. This caused tension between both sides.
Later, two groups of juvenile gang members brought hired terrorists from Chanpara Purnabasan Kendra area and armed themselves with various types of weapons including ramda, chapati, pistols and engaged in a fight at around 10:00 pm. Panic spread throughout the area. Businessmen closed their shops. At one point, the attackers set fire to tires on the streets of Tarab Bazar. At least 20 people on both sides including pedestrians were injured in the clash. Among them, two people named Kahinur Begum and Badal Mia have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Later, the terrorists from both sides attacked Abdul Sattar's Mudimnohri shop in Tarab Bazar, vandalized the fridge and looted the goods, looted the drinks of Harunur Rashid, a drink merchant, looted tin and money from Sadia Traders owned by Aminul Islam, looted fruits from the shop owned by Rafiq Mia. Yes, Korban Ali's Varieties shop was looted, Bikash and mobile dealer Russel Mia stole 10 mobiles by throwing a gun at his throat, goods were looted from an electronics shop owned by Shawon Mia, innocent Kabir Bhuiya, Haji Tofazzal Hossain, Tamim Mia, Hashe Bhuiya, Shamim. The terrorists entered the residences of Pradhan, Suruj Pradhan, Tabel, Habu Bhuiya and looted by attacking and vandalizing them. Not only that, the terrorists broke the glass of the office building of the weekly Rupkanth newspaper located in Tarab Bazar.
On receiving the news, Rupganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Deepak Chandra Saha led additional police from the district and reached the spot and fired 8 rounds of shotguns to bring the situation under control. The attackers retreated at some stage of the police chase with the attackers from both sides. After about two hours, the police brought the situation under control.
Many people in Tarab Bazar area complained and said that the businessmen and innocent people of the area are fed up with the torture of those two groups of juvenile gangs. After a few days they have been committing various crimes. There are various allegations against the members of these groups, starting from murder, robbery, robbery, extortion, drug trade, kidnapping, land grabbing. The police sent the case to the court, but he got out on bail and is involved in crime again. Anyone who goes to protest is attacked. So no one dares to file a case against the criminals. Law enforcement agencies should take strict action against these criminals. If not, the local people fear that more terrible things will happen in the future.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupganj Police Station Deepak Chandra Saha said that the police arrested a person named Hridoy Khan in this incident. At present the situation is normal. Police are deployed at the scene. The police operation along with the district detective police (DB) is continuing to arrest those involved in the incident. The case is being prepared in this case.
