
Hotel waiter dies after being struck with rod by bread maker in Joypurhat.

An allegation has been made that Zahid Hasan, a food server at a hotel, died after being struck with a rod by a tandoori bread maker at Kusum Sweets, a unit of Kusum Kitchen in the Natunhat area of Joypurhat town.
Police have arrested the accused, Shahin Mia, in connection with the incident.
Although the incident took place at around 9:00 AM on Sunday , Zahid Hasan died at 2:30 PM at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
The deceased, Zahid Hasan, was the son of Ishaq Mollah from Ramganj village in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur district.
Farhad Hossain, the manager of Kusum Sweets, stated that a quarrel broke out this morning between Nasim, the tandoori bread maker, and Shahin, the paratha maker. When waiter Zahid Hasan tried to mediate the dispute, Shahin struck him with a rolling pin used for making bread. Then, Shahin hit him again on the head with a rod. Locals rescued him and admitted him to Joypurhat 250-bed General Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, doctors referred him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura, where he died at around 2:30 PM while undergoing treatment.
Nurjahan Happy, the owner of Kusum Sweets and a resident of Dewanpara, Natunhat, said Zahid Hasan was a very good person and had been working as a waiter at their hotel for almost three years. After the incident occurred this morning, Shahin was immediately detained, and the police were informed. Police later arrested him.
Joypurhat Superintendent of Police, Muhammad Abdul Wahab said, I talked to the family members of the victim, they will file case.
