
Discussion meet between KCC officials, KFW delegation held

An initial discussion meeting between KCC officials and a delegation from the German Development Bank (KFW) was held at the GIZ auditorium of Nagar Bhaban on Sunday morning.
The meeting was presided over by KCC Chief Executive Officer (Joint Secretary) Laskar Tajul Islam. The meeting discussed the work plan and progress made in implementing the project.
It is worth noting that under this project, jointly funded by the German-based donor agency KfW and the Bangladesh government, important projects such as the construction of the KDA bypass road, the construction of a city protection dam from Daulatpur, the construction of sluice gates and pump houses in Alutola and Labanchara, the renovation and bank building of 23 existing ponds in the city, the bank building of abandoned and uninhabited canals, and the construction of the Rupsha River View Park will be implemented.
The meeting was informed that environmental protection should be given utmost importance in implementing the project, keeping in mind the harmful effects of climate change in this region. In addition, the meeting emphasized on taking all possible measures to ensure the sustainability of the project and completing the project work within the specified time frame.
KFW Team Leader Dr. Asit Mohanty, Representatives Lucas Mars, Peter Rooney and Toauhidur Rahman, KCC Chief Engineer Mashiuzzaman Khan, Chief Planning Officer Abir Ul Jabbar, Executive Engineer,Muhammad Anisuzzaman and Sheikh Md. Masud Karim, Architect Rezbina Khanam, Climate Change Adapted Urban Development (CCAUD) Deputy Team Leader Md. Abdul Mannan, Procurement Specialist Engineer Md. Azizur Rahman, Drainage Engineer Md. Dabir Uddin, Structural Engineer Md. Asaduzzaman, GIS Officer Ferdous Hussain and others were present.
Later, the delegation members visited the project implementation sites.
KCC Administrator Firoz Sarkar exchanges post-Eid greetings with officials
Khulna City Corporation Administrator Md. Firoz Sarkar said, "Eid brings a message of brotherhood and harmony into our lives. Coming together on this special day is an important part of our religious and social tradition."
The KCC administrator said this while exchanging post-Eid greetings with officials and employees at the Shaheed Altaf Auditorium of Nagar Bhaban on Sunday afternoon.
The KCC Administrator also said that if we perform our duties with integrity, dedication and sincerity, even difficult tasks can be easily implemented. He commented that the reduction in mosquito infestation is a unique example of this. Thanking everyone involved in mosquito eradication, including the Chief Waste Management Officer, he called on officials and employees at all levels to continue this trend of coordinated work.
