A team of the Anti-Corruption Commission has conducted a raid at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) in Gopalganj based on various irregularities and complaints.

The ACC has found irregularities in this raid.

The raid was conducted led by Md. Mashiur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission's Gopalganj District Office at 11 am on Sunday. Other ACC officials were present at the time.

Md., Deputy Director of the Gopalganj District Office Mashiur Rahman said that the ACC found widespread irregularities in various matters including the purchase of furniture at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, the purchase of books in the library, the provision of jobs through irregularities, the destruction of the water treatment plant, irregularities in purchases, and the construction of gates. In light of that, the operation was conducted today, Sunday. The allegation of purchasing extra benches than needed in the university has been proven. Which were wasted and resulted in wastage of government money.

He also said that the director of the university's Planning Commission, Tuhin Mahmud, is involved in irregularities in purchases. In addition, there are allegations of widespread tender trading against another official of the university, Nazrul Islam Hira. He has earned a huge amount of illegal money by not working on tenders in the name of relatives and relatives. I have asked for files and documents on these matters. These files and documents will be verified and a report will be submitted to higher officials.

Later, the remaining procedures, including filing a case, will be handled as per the decision of the higher officials.
