7 fishermen rescued alive after fishing boat capsizes in Kutubdia, 5 still missing

A fishing boat owned by Nurul Abchar of Amjakhali area of Baraghop union of Kutubdia upazila sank in the Bay of Bengal due to adverse weather conditions on Monday.
In this incident, 7 of the 12 fishermen on the boat were rescued alive, but 5 fishermen are still missing.
The missing fishermen are the son of Abul Kashem of South Amjakhali area of Baraghop Union. Karim (20), son of Shamsul Alam. Nashir (18), Ayyub Monir (22), son of Abdul Mabud of Baraghop Muralia village, Kamal of Haider Baper Para area of Ali Akbar Dale Union and Nashir Uddin of Kakpara area of Magnama Union of Pekua.
According to local sources, on July 13 (Monday) around 4:30 in the morning, the fishing boat capsized due to an accident in the stormy wind and rough sea. At this time, the fishermen in the boat fell into the sea. Later, fishermen from other boats engaged in fishing in the vicinity conducted a rescue operation and rescued 7 people alive.
Abul Kalam, president of Upazila Fishermen's Federation, said, "When the fishing boat overturned due to hostile weather and strong winds, the fishermen fell into the sea and were swept away in the current. Local fishermen are making all-out efforts to rescue the missing."
Zainal Abedin, leader of upazila fishermen's group and fishing boat owners' association, said, "On Monday night, when everyone was anchored in the sea and resting, the boat suddenly capsized due to strong wind and current. 5 fishermen are still missing.

Coast Guard and Upazila Fisheries Department officials said, they have not yet received any official information about the accident.
