MP Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf inaugurates plantation campaign in Faridpur

A joint initiative by the Faridpur District Administration and the Social Forest Department launched the Tree Plantation Campaign and Tree Fair 2026 on Sunday morning.
Organized under the banner "Brikkhoropone Sajai Desh, Sobar Aage Bangladesh" (Adorn the country through tree plantation, Bangladesh comes first), the event officially commenced at 11:00 AM on the grounds of the Faridpur Civil Surgeon's Office.
Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, MP for the Faridpur-3 constituency, was present as the chief guest for the opening ceremony. The inauguration was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, along with the ceremonial release of balloons and pigeons. The event was presided over by Mazharul Islam, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Faridpur.
A wide range of local officials, community representatives, and socio-political leaders attended the opening, including Faridpur Civil Surgeon Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, UNO Mishkatul Jannat Rabeya, Divisional Forest Officer Tariqul Islam, and Range Officer Taowhid Hossain. Leaders from various political and social groups were also present to show their support.
Addressing the gathering, key speakers highlighted that the fruit and forest tree fair was organized as part of the nationwide "25 Crore Tree Plantation Program" announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Following the formal discussions, guests distributed fruit, forest, and medicinal tree saplings to local students.
