
Younger brother of MP arrested in Adamdighi

Adamdighi Police arrested Shahidullah Al Mehdi Apan, the younger brother of former MP of Bogura-3 (Adamdighi-Dupchanchia), Saifullah Al Mehdi Bandhan, from the Shibpur area of Adamdighi Sadar Union recently.
The arrested individual, Shahidullah Al Mehdi Apan (34), is the younger son of Sirajul Islam Khan Raju, president of the Adamdighi Upazila Awami League, and Munju Ara Begum, president of the Upazila Women's Awami League. After being arrested in a sabotage case, he was sent to Bogura District Jail through the court this afternoon.
According to police sources, on August 4, 2024, Awami League activists carried out an attack, throwing crude bombs and vandalizing the BNP party office at the central bus stand area in Adamdighi Upazila Sadar. Following this, on August 5, a case was filed at Adamdighi Police Station under the Explosives Act, naming around five hundred Awami League leaders and activists, along with approximately four hundred unidentified individuals. In connection with this case, Shahidullah Al Mehdi Apan was arrested last Monday night.
Confirming the incident, Adamdighi Police Station OC Mostafizur Rahman said, Shahidullah Al Mehdi Apan was arrested last night in a sabotage case and was sent to Bogura District Jail through the court this Tuesday afternoon. The operation to arrest the remaining fugitives in the case is ongoing.
