
Brick kiln owner fined Tk one lakh in Jibannagar

A mobile court has fined Tk one lakh to a brick kiln owner in Jibannagar, Chuadanga for illegally cutting soil from cultivable land on Monday afternoon.
Jibannagar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Syedjadi Mahbuba Manjur Mouna conducted the mobile court and imposed the fine.
Sources said , the upazila administration received information on Monday afternoon that Rafiqul Islam, the owner of SPH Bricks, was illegally cutting soil in Marufdaha village of Raipur union of Jibannagar upazila and taking it to the brick kiln without permission.
Based on such information, Jibannagar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Syedjadi Mahbuba Manjur Mouna went to the place. At that time, after receiving evidence of that information, a mobile court was set up and fined SPH Bricks owner Rafiqul Islam Tk 1 lakh under Section 5 of the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act 2013 for illegally cutting soil without permission.
