Munshiganj Correspondent
In the West Muktarpur area of Munshiganj Sadar, an allegation has been made against Panchasar Union No. 8 Ward
BNP General Secretary Md. Anish.
At 10 am on Wednesday, Umme Habiba, wife of West Muktarpur expatriate Md. Sirajul Islam, was beaten up by her brother-in-law BNP leader Rafiqul Islam Anish (40), Sahela Akhtar (34) and Shahidul Islam Shirin (50) gang over a land dispute.
In this incident, the expatriate's wife, Umme Habiba, filed a GD at Munshiganj Sadar Police Station. Earlier, a CR case was filed in Munshiganj Court for occupying 6 built shops and residential houses.
The wife of the victim expatriate, Umme Habiba, said, my husband Sirajul Islam is an expatriate.
Due to my husband being abroad, defendant no. 01 Md. Rafiqul Islam Anis, who built 6 shops and a residential house on my husband's place, was given the responsibility of looking after him. Later, the defendant did not give me the said place, land and shops, but instead occupied them alone. In this regard, I filed CR case no. 622/2023 AD Section-406/420/506 in the Munshiganj Court.
In the ACR case, defendant no. 01 came to the court with a bond that he would sell the said place, land and shops to me. Speaking of explaining the shops and land, last Wednesday (March 26, 2025) morning, Rafiqul Islam Anis (40), Sahela Akhter (34) and Shahidul Islam Shirin (50) pushed me out of my house and threw me down. They beat me and injured me in various parts of my body. The defendants threatened me. They threatened to kill me if I did not withdraw the case.
Later, with the help of my relatives, I came to Munshiganj Sadar Hospital for treatment. My husband is torturing us because he is abroad. I want justice from the administration subject to investigation. I want the return of the 6 shops and houses built according to legal documents.
Earlier, in the CR case in Munshiganj Court, Amli Court - No. 1, the then Munshiganj Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector Md. Faizur Khan, according to the police investigation report, Umme Habiba's husband, expatriate Sirajul Islam, has 6 shops, three tin houses and a chauchala house in his 4.90 percent property obtained from his ancestral sources. In this, 54 thousand taka per month is paid for rent, 6 lakh 48 thousand taka per year. When expatriate Sirajul migrated to South Africa on 10/08/2017 in search of livelihood, he gave Anish the responsibility of collecting the rent with the consent and presence of his wife Umme Habiba and younger brother Anish.
In this incident, when asked to pay 35 lakh 64 thousand taka from 2018 to June 2023, the defendant denied all the incidents and the police found out that the plaintiff in the case was threatened with intimidation and death. In this case, the accused Anis served a total of 12 days in jail twice. Later, in the court, RS Khatian 65, RS Dag No. 310, Namzari Khatian 1527, mentioned 4.
He was released from the case by giving a bond stating that he would not have any claim on 90 percent of the property and did not pay off the shop and residential house at all, and beat and intimidated his expatriate brother's wife Umm Habiba. Meanwhile, the family is being deprived of the rent of these houses built by him due to the power of this BNP leader. Despite efforts to get his statement on this matter, he could not be taken.
Locals of West Muktarpur again sought the cooperation of the legal agency subject to a proper investigation
