Israel kills mother, 6-month-old son in attack on Gaza’s Jabalia

At least 11 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since early Wednesday, including a mother and her six-month-old baby in northern Jabalia, according to Palestinian health officials.
The latest escalation comes as Israel continues its military operations in the region, with airstrikes also reported in Syria. At least six people were killed in the southern Syrian province of Deraa, drawing condemnation from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, the United States has intensified its military campaign in Yemen. Reports indicate that top US officials are under scrutiny for allegedly sharing classified military plans with a journalist through the encrypted messaging app Signal.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that at least 50,144 Palestinians have been killed and 113,704 wounded since the war began. However, Gaza’s Government Media Office estimates the total death toll has surpassed 61,700, accounting for thousands still buried under the rubble.
The conflict erupted following the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel, in which at least 1,139 people were killed and more than 200 taken captive.
