A powerful earthquake in Myanmar’s Mandalay region has left 694 people dead, 1,670 injured, and 68 missing as of Saturday morning, according to the Information Team of the State Administration Council.
The 7.7-magnitude quake struck on Friday afternoon, causing significant disruptions, including power failures and mobile network outages, particularly in parts of Yangon. Many buildings sustained damage, and rescue efforts are ongoing, officials reported.
