Yasmin Begum takes charge  as Cultural Secretary

Yasmin Begum, an officer of the 17th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Administration Cadre, officially assumed charge as the new Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs on Sunday. 

She succeeds outgoing Secretary Kaniz Maula, according to a press release.

A ceremony was organized at the Ministry of Cultural Affairs to mark the transition. Minister for Cultural Affairs Nitai Roy Chowdhury welcomed the new Secretary with a floral bouquet and expressed confidence in her leadership.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stated that Yasmin Begum's extensive administrative experience and leadership will play a vital role in making the ministry's activities more dynamic, creative, and public-oriented. He wished her success in promoting the country's arts, literature, and culture.

Following the formal welcome, heads and representatives of various departments and directorates under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs greeted the newly appointed Secretary with flowers. Senior officials of the ministry were present at the event.

Expressing her gratitude for the reception, Yasmin Begum pledged to work with dedication to implement government initiatives aimed at developing the cultural sector and preserving the nation's cultural heritage.
