
Warehouse of' Jhut ' embroidery factory burnt in N’ganj

A jhut warehouse and an embroidery factory were burnt in a fire at Shastapur area in Fatullah, Narayanganj Sadar Upazila. The incident occurred around 3:30 am on Wednesday at the 5th floor of the Neat Concern Factory in the Godnail area of Siddhirganj, in the loose carton godown of the knitting section. Upon receiving the news, two units from Adamjee Fire Service and two from Hajiganj Fire Service brought the fire under control after two hours of effort.Miron Mia, Station Master of Adamjee Fire Service, said that the fire broke out in the loose carton godown of the knitting section on the 5th floor of Neat Concern Factory. The fire was brought under control by two units each from Adamjee and Hajiganj Fire Services. The fire originated from an electrical short circuit, but there was no major damage.Eyewitnesses reported that the fire initially broke out around 1:30 am from the jhut warehouse and quickly spread, engulfing the adjacent embroidery factory as well. Locals tried to extinguish the fire but failed.Abdullah Al Arefin, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, said preliminary investigations suggest the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. No casualties have been reported. The extent of the damage will be known after an investigation.
