Since its inception, RAB has been working successfully against robbery, mugging, theft, armed terrorism, and activities disrupting public order. RAB has been playing a leading role in maintaining the overall discipline, image of the country, and religious harmony. 

Through intelligence surveillance and patrol duty, RAB has already achieved significant success in controlling crime.

On the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha, in order to prevent theft, mugging, robbery, and various untoward incidents on highways under the jurisdiction of RAB-8, Barishal, intelligence surveillance has been increased and special day-and-night patrols are being conducted continuously in all the responsible districts under RAB-8 to ensure that the public can travel without hindrance before Eid.

As part of this, on the midnight of Thursday  (May 29)  special patrols, checkpoints, and search operations were conducted on the highways from Tekerhat to Patuakhali and from Barishal to Pirojpur under the jurisdiction of RAB-8, Barishal. During this time, checkpoints were set up and search operations were conducted at three locations: the area adjacent to the Gouranadi bus stand in Barishal district, the area adjacent to Gabkhan Bridge in Jhalakathi Sadar, and the area adjacent to the Payra Bridge toll plaza under Dumki police station in Patuakhali.

Ahead of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha, RAB patrol teams and plainclothes units are playing a special role to ensure the safety of all areas under the responsibility of the battalion and to maintain overall law and order. This special patrol will continue until the end of Eid.

All are requested to immediately inform RAB upon noticing any suspicious person or anyone trying to create disorder.

 It is mentioned  that RAB-8, Barishal is firmly committed to protecting the lives and property of the public and taking strict action against any kind of sabotage or attempts to destroy religious harmony.
