RAB-8 holds 'Town Hall Meeting' in Pirojpur to counter drugs, cybercrime, youth gangs

RAB-8 organised an awareness-raising "Town Hall Meeting" on Monday at the Shahid Omar Farooq Auditorium of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Parishad to steer youth away from drug abuse, cybercrime, and gang involvement.
Chaired by Major Md Ashiq Ikram Sourav, Deputy Commander of RAB-8, the event was attended by Pirojpur Sadar UNO Mamun Or Rashid as the special guest, alongside teachers, guardians, religious leaders, representatives of social organisations, and a large number of students.
Speakers emphasized that while law enforcement acts as a deterrent, social resistance and family awareness are vital to curbing cybercrime, youth gangs, and drug addiction. Students were also briefed on safe social media practices and legal avenues for reporting cyber offenses.
