Compensation cheques distributed to families of those killed, injured in road accidents in Bagerhat

Financial assistance checks worth Tk 1.31 crore have been distributed to the families of those killed and injured in road accidents in Bagerhat.
These compensation checks were handed over at a function jointly organized by BRTA and the district administration at the conference room of the district administration on Wednesday morning.
Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Golam Md. Baten was present as the president of the function and officially handed over the compensation checks to the relatives of the victims.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mejba Uddin, Additional District Magistrate Joydev Chakraborty, BRTA Director (Engineering) SM Mahfuzur Rahman, and Bagerhat Press Club President Abu Sayeed Shunu were present at the function.
BRTA sources said that a total of 27 families affected by road accidents were given this financial assistance at the function. Of these, 1.25 crore taka was given to the families of each of the 25 deceased. In addition, 6 lakh taka was given for the medical care and rehabilitation of the 2 people injured in the accident.
