Biman resumes direct Dhaka-Narita flight route

After being suspended for over a year, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has officially resumed its direct flight operations on the Dhaka-Narita route. The government expects the restoration of this route to further strengthen investment, trade, education, and people-to-people relations between Bangladesh and Japan.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday night, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam, MP, said, the question of shutting down this route in the future does not arise.
Expressing optimism that the route will now be profitable, she noted that bookings for both the inaugural flight and subsequent return and onward flights are already complete, generating widespread enthusiasm among expatriate Bangladeshis living in Japan.
During the Meet and Greet event, the Minister remarked, "Today's Dhaka-Narita flight is the result of our collective efforts. I am immensely pleased to be able to implement the directives of the Prime Minister."
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP, said the flight was launched keeping in mind the approximately 45,000 expatriate Bangladeshi students, workers, and immigrants residing in Japan.
Following the speeches, the ministers exchanged greetings with passengers bound for Japan and formally inaugurated the flight by cutting a ribbon.
