Bangladesh aims for Global Tech Hub Status at National Semiconductor Summit

The Ministry of Science and Technology, along with the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA), concluded the two-day "National Semiconductor Symposium and BEAR Summit 2026" at the National Museum of Science and Technology (Novo Theatre) on Monday.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Science and Technology Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain outlined an action plan to transition Bangladesh from a technology consumer into a primary innovator and manufacturer in the global semiconductor and frontier tech sectors. Guided by the strategic framework "Science to Economy," the government's approach rests on four key pillars: STEM Development, Research to Market (R2M), Innovation to Market (I2M), and Frontier Technologies.
The Ministry also announced that actionable roadmaps will be formulated in collaboration with industry, academia, and international partners, with transformative projects such as a "National Biotech Park" and a "National AI Institute" already under development.
