Adequate fertilizer stock available, no cause for panic: Dulu

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has assured that the country has an adequate stock of fertilizers, ensuring there will be no difficulty in meeting farmers' demands. He also urged people to remain vigilant against individuals attempting to create artificial fertilizer crises to induce panic.
The Minister made these remarks on Tuesday night while addressing a review meeting on fertilizer sales at the Lalmonirhat Circuit House as the chief guest.
Notably, the government has formed a three-member cabinet committee to review fertilizer collection, distribution, and dealer appointment activities, and to provide necessary advice and support to the Ministry of Agriculture. A notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Division on Tuesday, with Minister Asadul Habib Dulu named as a member of the committee.
During the meeting, the Minister issued a stern warning that strict legal action will be taken against any irregularities surrounding the fertilizer season, including hoarding, black marketing, or negligence by government officials.
Chaired by Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Md. Rashedul Haque Prodhan, the meeting was also addressed by Lalmonirhat District Council Administrator AKM Mominul Haque. Officials from the district administration, police, and agriculture departments, along with local fertilizer traders and dealers, were present at the event.
